They contain elements such as carbon (0.25-0.45%), manganese (0.60-1.35%), phosphorus (≤0.04%), sulfur (≤0.05%), and trace amounts of chromium, molybdenum, or nickel for increased hardness and corrosion resistance. Mechanically, they possess tensile strength of 74,000-120,000 psi and yield strength of approximately 45,000-90,000 psi, with excellent hardness and ductility. These washers are typically found in high-stress applications such as automotive, construction, and heavy machinery because they are tough and can support heavy loads.
