Alloy Steel P22 pipes consist of molybdenum (0.87–1.13%), manganese (0.30–0.60%), phosphorus (max 0.025%), chromium (1.90–2.60%), sulfur (max 0.025%), and carbon (max 0.15%). Such a composition of alloy ensures good mechanical properties, such as minimum tensile strength and yield strength of 415 MPa and 205 MPa, respectively, as well as better creep resistance, oxidation resistance, and thermal stability. P22 pipes have good weldability and are normally supplied in normalized and tempered condition, suitable for welding and fabrication in high-pressure piping.
